Stablecoin Issuer Circle Files to Relocate to U.S. From Ireland Ahead of its Planned IPO

The USDC stablecoin issuer Circle has filed to make the U.S. its new legal home as it plans an initial public offering in the country.

The Republic of Ireland currently homes Circle. Circle filed to list shares publicly with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in January.

The USDC is the second-largest stablecoin in the crypto market, with a market cap of around $33 billion, behind
Tether’s USDT, at $100 billion.
