IOE, Seedstars Launches the 4th Edition of Migration Challenge

The fourth iteration of the Migration Challenge, which seeks businesses reinventing standard migration processes, has been launched by Seedstars and the International Organization of Employers (IOE).

For the fourth time, the program is looking for international tech startups, especially those close to Europe – Northern Africa, the Middle East, and Central and Eastern Europe – with a mission to innovate common migration processes that serve migrants, businesses, and governments, including solutions that address migration caused by the climate and support green transitions with migrant workforce.

The Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) stakeholders and the tech startup community have been connected throughout the course of the previous three editions via IOE and Seedstars.

The shared goal was to find viable, scaleable solutions to the migration governance problems as well as to give talented software entrepreneurs a platform to grow more quickly.

The focus of the fourth edition is on entrepreneurs working to simplify migration procedures for organizations and governments, with a special emphasis on green climate tech solutions.

Participating startups must have a tested minimum viable product with early momentum and concentrate on mobility and services for corporations or governments in the area of labor migration. Twenty innovative solutions will be found by the Migration Challenge, and 10 finalists will be chosen from this group to present their ideas at the GFMD Summit in Geneva in January 2024.

The winner and the two runners-up will be paired with a mentor from the Seedstars Mentorship Hub who will offer advice and support as they address their primary business concerns, improve their fundraising efforts, and aid in the process of scaling up. The challenge winner will receive CHF5,000 (US$5,500).

“We look forward to seeing the game-changing answers this edition will offer. According to Elizabeth Jones, head of programs at Seedstars, “our partnership with IOE in previous editions has always opened the way for ground-breaking solutions in the migration industry.

Here, applications are accepted through October 6.
